In the tropical area like Thailand is the habitat of many plant species, though Frangipani is believed to be brought in centuries ago by the European Missionary.  Frangipani the so-called Plumeria as the common name, was generally called Lantom in Thailand in the early day until not long ago the name was then renamed Lilavadee that made the plant more popular and commercially welcome.  Quite a number of plumeria cultivars were imported and crossed hybrids, however many of them that are internationally recognized are abundant in the Country eg. Irma Bryan, Thailand Red, Celadine, Bali Palace, Polynesian Sunset, Singapore Obtusa, Heidi Gold, Pinwheel Rainbow, Pink Shell and several generic cultivars.  Currently, the growing numbers of plumeria activists have put their great efforts in developing new methods of propagation, especially  seedlings of imported and local hybrid seeds.

Plumeria or Lilavadee has outstanding characteristics in its beauty, drought tolerant, almost free from enemies and easy to propagate.  The Plant can be grown anywhere in the world that has tropics climate, it makes a fantastic potted plant for your patio deck, outdoor garden, balcony, private corner that requires semi-shaded area and driveway.  It has variety of fragrances and makes the collectors of this plant wondering on its distinctive composition than other flowered plants, seems that each cultivar has its own individual fragrance thus allowing the collectors to enjoy hobbies to their endless pleasures and discoveries.
